12/31/2023 0 Comments Jesus three days laterGod’s plan was, and has always has been, about restoring and renewing this world – and his plan has always involved us. Jesus's disciples finally clicked that he was talking about himself. The temple was where God resided and Jesus had mentioned that “the temple” would be destroyed and rebuilt in three days. However, when the tomb was found empty, they started to put things together – especially things that Jesus had said. Their hopes were crushed when Jesus, their leader, was executed. At his trial, some of them still thought that Jesus was going to lead a physical revolution – that the Romans would be overthrown and that God’s Kingdom or rule would be established by force. God had been putting another plan into action that was bigger and better and more exciting than anyone had imagined so much so that even Jesus's closest disciples had not fully understood what was going on. Yet three days later, the tomb in which Jesus’s body had been laid, was empty. Some of his disciples were fishermen and they went back to their boats even Peter, who said he would follow Jesus anywhere, eventually fled when he was recognised as a buddy of Jesus. Jesus’s friends and his followers completely deserted him – they decided that he was not the saviour that everyone thought was going to free the people. He was nailed to a cross and left to die. Therefore it is because of this one thing – and because of nothing else – that Jesus was tortured and crucified. In first-century Palestine, such a claim was considered to be blasphemy and a crime punishable by death. They could not come up with a single charge, apart from one, and this was that Jesus had suggested that he was God. If your whole life was on trial, do you think that anyone from any period in your life could come up with a single thing that you had ever done wrong? Yet, when Jesus stood trial for his life, no one could think of a single thing he had ever done wrong. It hurt deeply, however I was, after all, guilty. As a punishment, the headteacher asked all my fellow pupils to ignore me and not to speak to me for a whole day. And so the next morning, in the school assembly, I was made to stand and be publicly shamed in front of everyone. Little did we know that the deputy headteacher had heard about what we had done, and when we arrived back at the school, he asked both Matthew and I if we had done the dastardly deed. In the car that followed behind the bus, two punks started sticking two fingers up at us and so, giggling, we returned the favour. When I was about eight years old I was sitting with my friend Matthew on the back seat of our school bus, staring out of the rear window. Three days after Jesus’s death, his tomb was empty However, when it comes to using LINE overseas, the experience takes a sharp decline. The most “barbecuey” BBQ chip I’ve ever had. The BBQ is the most flavor-packed I’ve ever tasted. You can also grab them in single servings. Those in the latter camp are also greeted by a wall of Bengals-emblazoned boxes, each stuffed with a 1.5-pound bag of hometown favorite, Grippo’s chips. Hunsucker greets folks at the door much of the time, often asking if they are newcomers or perhaps from Ohio. “We were like, ‘if they’re piling that much cheese on it, we’re trying it!'” “We’d seen it on the internet one time,” another said. This one’s the Greek, but outside the more famous coneys and ways, customers can enjoy chili in burritos on sandwiches and over potatoes, among other things. Johnson and another had theirs over a potato. They brought a few more newbies this time. “We heard from coworkers that Skyline Chili was a thing, so we came to try it.” She had it for the first time three weeks earlier. “It’s definitely not the chili I’m used to, but it’s good,” Disney cast member Melisa Johnson told me as she and several co-workers finished their lunches. “Unique” is a word both he and Hunsucker use to describe its flavor. Bengals-branded boxes hide 1.5-pound bags of Grippo’s chips, a Cincinnati fave since 1919. Some save the crackers for the end, mashing them into the juice left at the bottom of the plate with a fork before eating. Others scatter them over the top of their coneys or ways. Some eat them like appetizers while waiting for their food, often showering them with Skyline hot sauce (think Tabasco, with just a little more oomph). If or how one chooses to employ them is a personal choice. The spaghetti is soft enough that you don’t even need a knife. “To make sure you get all those layers - especially if you throw beans and onions on - you cut into it like a pie. “The plate comes in layers,” he explains. Five-way, a signature dish with steaming spaghetti, is covered with original secret recipe chili and topped with a mound of shredded cheddar cheese, onions and beans at Skyline Chili in Winter Garden. “It’s probably 80/20,” says Hunsucker, who’s not the food police (he’s just happy you’re here), but the methodology is more about proper ingredient-to-bite ratios than ceremony. Watching a noob twirling a four-way for Ohio natives, I’ve surmised, is something like watching someone eat a New York slice with a knife and fork. “You can make it a four-way or five-way by adding onions or onions and beans.”Īnother nuance: For those in the know, the spaghetti is eaten by cutting. “A three-way is a bed of spaghetti with chili poured over top and freshly shredded cheese on top of that,” Hunsucker explains. Another hallmark of the Skyline brand is the mountain of finely shredded mild cheddar that comes in 40-pound blocks that staffers chop down and feed into a grater that makes short work of it. “The hot dog flavor is very mild,” Hunsucker notes. Hunsucker’s outpost is a boon for fans who come in droves for chili-slathered, steamed-bun coneys. In Cincinnati, there’s a chili parlor (that’s what they’re called) on every corner, but locally, not so much. A 2013 Deadspin article that eviscerated 50 states’ worth of cherished regional foods saved Cincinnati chili as a best-for-last finale, giving what the writer called “abominable garbage gravy” the most real estate of the piece. 12/31/2023 0 Comments Summer breeze salonPowered by two MTU engines of 1250hp, SUMMER BREEZE is capable of 22 knots while cruising and can reach a maximum of 25 knots.īesides being equipped with modern leisure and entertainment facilities, SUMMER BREEZE also features a hydraulic gangway and swim platform that offers easy access in and out of the water. The chip mentioned in demo videos, and used in the Developer Transition Kit, is the A12Z Bionic. MacOS Big Sur is the first release of macOS for Macs powered by Apple-designed ARM64-based processors, a key part of the transition from Intel x86-64-based processors. Notification Center also features a new widget system similar to that in iOS 14, displaying more information with more customization than previously available. The Notification Center is redesigned, featuring interactive notifications and a transparent user interface. This interface is functionally and visually similar to the Control Center on iOS and iPadOS. Interface Control Center Īn interface with quick toggles for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, screen brightness and system volume has been added to the menu bar. The new OS also brings further integration with Apple's SF Symbols, enabling easier use by third-party developers as UI elements for their applications through AppKit, SwiftUI, and Catalyst, which makes it possible to unify third party applications with the existing Apple-made design language. Its aesthetic has been described as " neumorphism", a portmanteau of new and skeuomorphism. Compared to iOS, Big Sur's icons include more shading and highlights to give a three-dimensional appearance. All standard apps, as well as the Dock and the Menu Bar, are redesigned and streamlined, and their icons now have square shapes like iOS and iPadOS apps, and are distinctly more round. Its changes include translucency in various places, a new abstract wallpaper for the first time and a new color palette. MacOS Big Sur refreshes the design of the user interface, described by Apple as the biggest change since the introduction of Mac OS X. Using these methods, it is possible to install macOS Big Sur on computers as old as a 2008 MacBook Pro and iMac and 2009 Mac Mini. Developer Transition Kit (only up to Big Sur 11.3 beta 2 )īy using patch tools, macOS Big Sur can be installed on earlier computers that are officially unsupported, such as the 2012 iMac and the 2012 MacBook Pro.Unlike macOS Catalina, which supported every standard configuration Mac that Mojave supported, Big Sur drops support for various Macs released in 2012 and early 2013. To maintain backwards compatibility, macOS Big Sur identified itself as 10.16 to software and in the browser user agent. macOS Big Sur started reporting the system version as "11.0" on all Macs as of the third beta release. An exception to this was the Developer Transition Kit, which always reported the system version as "11.0". Providing some indication as to how the pre-release operating system may have been viewed internally at Apple during its development cycle, documentation accompanying the initial beta release of macOS Big Sur referred to its version as "10.16", and when upgrading from prior versions of macOS using the Software Update mechanism to early beta releases, the version referred to was "10.16". MacOS Big Sur is the final version of macOS that supports Macs with Nvidia graphics cards, specifically the 15-inch dual graphics late 2013 and mid 2014 MacBook Pro models, as its successor, macOS Monterey, drops support for those models. The operating system is named after the coastal region of Big Sur in the Central Coast of California, continuing the naming trend of California locations that began with OS X Mavericks. To mark the transition, the operating system's major version number was incremented, for the first time since 2001, from 10 to 11. It is also the first macOS version to support Macs with ARM-based processors. Other changes include a revamp of the Time Machine backup mechanism, the control center from iOS 7, among other things. It features new blurs to establish a visual hierarchy, along with making icons more square and UI elements more consistent. The release of Big Sur was the first time the major version number of the operating system had been incremented since the Mac OS X Public Beta in 2000.įor the first time since OS X Yosemite 6 years earlier, macOS Big Sur features a user interface redesign. īig Sur is the successor to macOS Catalina, and was succeeded by macOS Monterey, which was released on October 25, 2021. It was announced at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 22, 2020, and was released to the public on November 12, 2020. MacOS Big Sur (version 11) is the seventeenth major release of macOS, Apple Inc.'s operating system for Macintosh computers. 12/30/2023 0 Comments Kindle hd 8The 32GB storage option costs $110 / £110 (roughly AU$200, though Amazon’s tablets aren’t usually released in Australia), while the larger 64GB version retails at $140 / £140 (around AU$255). As of July 2022 this is still the newest version of the tablet. The Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) went on sale, alongside the standard Fire HD 8 and Kids’ Edition tablets, on June 3, 2020. Available with 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage.Starts at $110 / £110 with special offers.(Image credit: Future) Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus release date and price If you do, the cost of the whole package could net you a more flexible Android tablet – so it only makes sense for those committed to Amazon’s services. It’s hard to justify spending more on the Plus unless you want a more meaningful upgrade from the previous version, or if you plan to purchase the Wireless Charging Dock and use it as a part-time Echo Show. If you want an inexpensive portable entertainment device or your first Fire tablet, the standard Fire HD 8 will do just fine. It retains all of the poor parts of the standard model – average screen quality, middling performance, disappointing cameras – but splits the vote by adding a dash of speed and wireless charging support. So the Fire HD 8 Plus represents a savvy bit of marketing by Amazon. This figure will drop if you’re a heavy gamer, while sporadic use will see the longevity stretch to several days. It’s not quite seamless, but dropping the slate on the stand automatically transforms it into an Alexa-powered smart display to rival the Echo Show 8.īattery life has been boosted for both of the new tablets, too, with each now capable of approximately 12 hours of mixed usage. On the other hand, Show Mode is uniquely appealing on the Fire HD Plus, because it works with the optional Wireless Charging Dock. If you’re not a Prime subscriber, you’ll find it incredibly restrictive – particularly given the limited selection of third-party games and apps available to download. Built around Amazon’s subscription ecosystem, the skinned Android software puts the company’s content above all else, offering precious little flexibility. Speaking of which, Fire OS is as divisive as ever. 12/30/2023 0 Comments Fishbone diagram meaningDisplay all causes at the same time: The problem could be caused by any of the causes or causal chains depicted on the fishbone graphic. The correlation may be grasped at a glance because it is logically organized. Clearly and rationally display relationships: The fishbone diagram highlights the connections and linkages between the probable causes and outcomes (as shown in the figure above). The Fishbone Diagram has five primary advantages: Benefits of Fishbone Diagramįishbone diagrams are beneficial because they present information clearly and understandably. Then team initiates corrective action and monitors its effectiveness for some time to realize it is effective. So the team investigates further and establishes sources for Thread Damage during the rolling process and makes improvements in the process. The team in our case study after validation and why-why analysis has established that the most likely source of the problem is that the “ Thread damage occurs during the rolling process”. You may now research the situation further and test to discover which of these potential causes is, in fact, contributing to the problem using methods like the 5 Whys, investigations, cause validation, and simulations. In our case study, we can see the team has discovered 15 probable causes. You should now have a complete fishbone diagram that shows all the potential causes of the problem statement. Several inquiry approaches are utilized to keep the discourse focused, such as the 5 Whys or the 4Ps (Policies, Procedures, People, and Plants). These should be drawn as lines branching off each cause line. Show these potential reasons as shorter lines emerging from the diagram’s “bones.” When a problem is huge or complex, it’s sometimes best to split it down into sub-problems. The team, in our case study, identifies and plots the following factors on the diagram: Draw a line off the spine of the fish for each factor as you identify it, then mark each line at the top. They usually center on the 4Ms we mentioned earlier in a manufacturing scenario. Equipment, materials, systems, external factors, people, and so on are examples of these. Step two is to decide how to categorize the sources of the current problem-the things that may be contributing to it. In Six Sigma language, we call the effect “KPOV” i.e, Key Performance Output Variable or Output Variable simply. This serves as the fish’s backbone.įor the purpose of understanding, we have taken here a case study from an engineering company and the defect for which the team wants to create the fishbone diagram is “Thread Ring Gauge Tight” which can be called “Effect” over here. After that, a horizontal arrow with an arrow pointing to the head is painted across the page. The fish’s head is made by writing out the problem as a statement and drawing a box around it. Determine who is engaged, what the issue is, and when and where it occurs on your team. The first step in making a fishbone diagram is to agree on and write down the specific problem you’re dealing with. Let’s look at an example of how to make a fishbone diagram in four phases. The facilitator supports the group in evaluating the various causes by importance and developing a hierarchy after the group has explored all possible explanations for an issue. A fishbone diagram is commonly used to center a conversation around a problem in product development and troubleshooting processes. The branching is determined by the required levels for each classification.Īs a test case technique for determining cause and effect, it should be effective. The ribs represent the analyses’ categories or classifications of causes, which branch out into causes and sub-causes. The “bones” stretch to the left to represent the various reasons. A Fishbone diagram combines the process of brainstorming with a form of mind map template and is commonly used for root cause analysis. The problem or consequence is depicted by the “head” of the skeleton, which is commonly portrayed on the right. This tool is used to identify the potential or probable causes of an issue. What is Fishbone Diagram?Ī fishbone diagram is a visual aid for sorting out the various causes of an issue. Fishbone diagrams are one of the seven core quality tools used in the “analysis” phase of Six Sigma’s DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control) problem-solving strategy. He created the fishbone diagram to assist staff in avoiding solutions that only address the symptoms of a much greater issue. He used it for the first time to explain to a group of engineers at Kawasaki Steel Works in 1943 to show how a complex set of factors may be linked to help solve an issue. Professor Kaoru Ishikawa of Tokyo University, a well-known Japanese expert in quality management, devised the Fishbone Diagram. A third occurrence of world significance is the appearance of the monotheism, carried into history by the Israelite tribes. Secondly, the alphabet has been developed, again probably in Asia Minor but soon to be spread by Phoenician merchants around the Mediterranean and Middle East. Firstly, iron has come into widespread use, probably starting somewhere in Asia Minor. Several major advances in civilization have taken place in region in recent centuries. Their achievements will have an enduring impact on world history. The eclipse of these states has allowed new peoples, particularly the Phoenicians and Israelites, to come to the fore. The old powers of the region – Egypt, the Hittites, Assyria and Babylon – have all been devastated by invaders from outside their borders: the “Sea Peoples” from Europe, the Aramaeans from the Syrian desert and the Kuldu (Chaldeans) and other groups from the southern desert. Over the past 500 years, great changes have wracked the Middle East. What is happening in Middle East in 1000BCE Invaders The struggles between them dominate the history of the Middle Eastern world in this period. These states are home to highly sophisticated – and already ancient – civilizations, with a complex commercial life, bureaucracies, and well-organized armies built around chariot formations. These, together with the New Kingdom of Egypt, form the leading powers of the region. Equipped with this battle-winning technology, they have subjugated local populations to create new states: the Hittite, Mitanni and Babylonian empires. Indo-European speaking tribes have moved in from the northern fringes of the old civilizations and brought with them a new military technology, the chariot. Since then the Middle East has seen many upheavals, particularly in Mesopotamia and surrounding regions. This was the achievement of king Sargon of Akkad, in Mesopotamia, in the late 3rd millennium BCE. The past thousand years have seen the rise of fall of the first true empire in world history. This has been carried by the trade networks radiating outwards from the Sumerian cities. Towns and cities are now scattered over a large part of the Middle East, with outlying regions such as Asia Minor and Iran being drawn into the orbit of urban civilization. In the previous thousand years, the influence of Mesopotamian civilization has spread far and wide. In the face of these pressures, the Ottoman empire has continued to tighten its control over Anatolia, Syria and Iraq, and is also intent on modernizing its dominions’ economies. The voice acting herein trapezes between being decent and outright laughable, but it's undoubtedly good for its time. Jaden, a padawan at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy, travels around the galaxy while training to become a full-fledged Jedi, battling the sinister Imperial Remnant all the way. The plot is serviceable if not good, managing to keep things ticking despite being rather predictable in its treading of familiar beats. As always in the series, multiple endings exist depending on which force affinities Jaden leans towards during missions. Jaden's lightsaber is also customisable from the get-go, serving to personalise the experience in an endearing - if shallow - way. One can choose Jaden's gender and pick from a handful of races, including human, Twi'lek, Zabrak, Kel Dor, and Rodian. Speaking of protagonist Jaden Korr, Jedi Academy features character customisation like none of the Jedi Knight instalments before it did. The arsenal of attacks available to Jaden only grows throughout the course of the substantial campaign, making these fights progressively richer in the mechanical sense. These confrontations are often exciting as you dance around your foe, attempting to find a sizeable gap in which to attack. There are also more duels with other lightsaber-wielding enemies than in the previous games in the series, which are by far the best combat encounters in here. Combat hasn't aged tremendously well, but it is nevertheless not only still playable, but enjoyable too: it can be extremely satisfying to side flip into a group of enemies, lay waste to them with a few quick lightsaber swings and well-timed force throws, and side flip out again. The lightsaber scorching walls as it passes by them and droids ambling about throughout the missions are examples of this firm rooting in the lore, which serves to give life to each familiar environment. Jedi Academy is positively steeped in Star Wars nostalgia, the effectiveness of which is enhanced by its entertaining gameplay. Motion controls are another addition worth mentioning, which are extremely useful for fine-aiming when using a ranged weapon. While the Switch's Joy-Cons are no match for a traditional keyboard and mouse, the controls are nevertheless intuitive and easy to pick up, and some smart hot-mapping has been implemented to quickly switch between the multitude of force powers available. It has since been dethroned by the very good Fallen Order, but it nevertheless retains many of its charms. At one point in history, the Jedi Knight series was at the pinnacle of lightsaber combat in video gaming. |
